James Flint occurs as British novelist. Innate within Stratford-upon-Avon in 1968 he did a journalistic apprenticeship on the Times of India in New Delhi before studying philosophy and psychology at Wadham College, Oxford. around graduating he spent a year in New York City studying jazz theory and system, giving to the UK to require an MA in Philosophy and Literature at the University of Warwick.
Inside 1994 he moved to London, where he worked as a part editor for Wired UK and science editor of the technology and art periodical Tone down. Since so he has written features & reviews for several national newspapers & magazines, including a Guardian, the Observer, the Daily Telegraph, Time Out and Arena.
Flint is the creator of the novels Habitus (1998: For Estate, UK; St. Martin’s Click, a states; Marco Tropea, Italy; Au Diable Vauvert, France; Gallimard, France); 52 Slipway to Magic Usa (2002: For Estate, UK; Marco Tropea, Italy), which won the Amazon.co.united kingdom of great britain & northern ireland Bursary Award for the season 2000; and A Book of Ash (2004: Viking, UK; 2006: Au Diable Vauvert, France; Marco Tropethe, Italy), winner of a 2003 Arts Council Writers’ Award. He has as well published the short story collection Soft Apocalypse – Twelve Tales from either a Turn of the Millennium (2004: Au Diable Vauvert). His short fiction has appeared within collections published by Penguin Books, a Future English Library & the ICA. After it was published around France inside 1992, Habitus wwhen estimated as in the top 5 foreign novels of that season's Rentrée Literaire. Instance Out known as it "probably the best British fiction début of the last five years".
Within 2002 one of Flint's stories (A Nuclear Train) was filmed for Channel 4 by the director Dan Saul. Flint too written a film installation Little Globe (http://www.londonfieldworks.com/little/main.hypertext mark-up language).
